Lionel Richie 'So Excited' To Kick Off His Las Vegas Residency Next Year
“Hello..is it me you are looking for?” singer Lionel Richie has announced his Las Vegas residency for next year. The legendary singer will bring his acclaimed, “All the Hits” stage show to the Sin City in April 2016.
Richie, 66, will kick off his show on April 27, 2016 at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino's The Axis and play 20 dates of his "Lionel Richie: All the Hits" Vegas show, which will run in April/May and September/October, 2016, Rolling Stone magazine reported.
The hit singer of the 80s expressed his excitement on the news. "I'm so excited to begin my residency at Planet Hollywood," Richie said in a statement. "I can't wait to share 'All the Hits, All Night Long' with all of my fans – it's a high-energy show that is a perfect match for such a vibrant city!"
Richie also hopes to entertain his audience in Vegas with elaborate stage designs, and said he will rope in “every imaginable thing” in his Vegas show, he said on NBC television's "Today" show.
The Alabama-born singer has also been named as the recipient of 2016 MusiCares Person of the Year Award, with singer Pharrell Williams, Lady Antebellum and Luke Bryan set to pay tribute to him at MusiCares benefit gala, set for Feb. 13, next year.
Richie is not the only singer who is signed on to his very own Las Vegas residency. Pop star Britney Spears, who started her residency in late 2013, recently agreed to extend the gala show for next two years. She will be joined by Jennifer Lopez, who is also opening her Vegas extravaganza early next year.
Tickets for the Lionel Richie's Vegas shows will go on sale at Ticketmaster Friday. Mentioned below are the dates for his Las Vegas residency.
