LIRR service still reduced till Thursday
Long Island Rail Road to and from Penn Station will continue to be disrupted till Friday morning, May 13.
As a result of the ongoing Amtrack repair work at the East River Tunnel, LIRR is reducing the number of trains today. 22 scheduled trains are canceled, terminated or diverted, just as yesterday.
Through Thursday, May 12, the AM and PM rush hour service will be heavily affected, and some delays should be expected.
A damaged track in the East River tunnel will not be completed by Thursday. Depending on Amtrak's repair progress, LIRR will make a decision of whether or not to restore the full service on Friday morning.
Passengers are encouraged to check the train status updates on Amtrak website and MTA website.
