KEY POINTS
- "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart" launches on PS5 on June 11
- The game is rumored to have its own PS5 bundle
- The bundle would reportedly cost €569.99 or around $645
Sony Interactive Entertainment is seemingly set for the Friday launch of its first-ever PS5 hardware bundle which, according to a recent leak, would include a copy of "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart" and a DualSense controller.
French news site Station of Play shared several images of what it claims to be a PS5 hardware bundle. According to the site, the "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart" PS5 hardware bundle would launch on June 11, which is the same date as the release of Insomniac Games' latest game.
The listing revealed that the bundle would cost €569.99 or around $645. Moreover, the site claimed that Sony would allocate between 10,000 and 12,000 PS5 hardware bundles to French retailers.
The "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart" PS5 hardware bundle would reportedly include the disc version of Sony's new-generation gaming console, a DualSense controller and a copy of the game. It was discovered in the database of the French retailer Boulanger.
It can be recalled that the rumored leaked price of the Nintendo Switch Pro was also discovered a few days ago in the same retailer's database. Aside from that, the site also shared that there would be a delivery of the standard PS5 consoles by the end of June. As of writing, there's no confirmation yet whether the "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart" PS5 hardware bundle would be available in other regions.
Sony's PS5 currently retails for €499 (around $600) in France. If the leaked images are accurate, it means that Sony won't be offering a discount on "Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart" for those who will purchase the bundle. While it might seem unfair, it makes sense from a business perspective. The said bundle would definitely sell out fast, considering that the demand for the console remains high.
Sony confirmed recently that 3.3 million PS5 gaming systems were shipped in a three-month period ending on March 31. Unfortunately, the Japanese gaming giant still could not meet the demand for its new generation gaming console. The PS5 shortage, which has been caused by the unavailability of parts, may last until next year.
"Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart" is the latest installment from Insomniac Games. The game is set to launch exclusively on PS5.
