Little Caesars Fires Two Workers For Swastika Sign In Couple's Order

Two workers at a Little Caesars pizza store in Brook Park, Ohio, were fired from their jobs after a couple called attention to their order in which the pepperonis were lined up like a swastika sign.

Misty and Jason Laska placed an order Saturday (June 27) and were shocked as they opened the box of pizza. Misty took a photo of their order and shared it on her Twitter account.

"I’m truly disappointed," Misty wrote. "This is truly saddening and disturbing and not funny at all! These aren’t funny jokes and shouldn’t be made period and on company time?!"

The Laskas called Little Caesars to report the incident, and the manager informed them the two employees who prepared their pizza were both in on an "internal joke."

"They were playing on each other and the other employee, and the pizza was never intended to go out," Jason said, per WJW-TV.

In a statement, Little Caesars confirmed the termination of the employees who made the offensive sign.

"We have zero tolerance for racism and discrimination in any form, and these franchise store employees were immediately terminated, a spokesperson told the outlet. We’re deeply disappointed that this happened, as this conduct is completely against our values," the company stated.

The couple was also informed the workers were fired but the Laskas said they will no longer patronize this pizza joint.

"We are the type of people that support the diversity in our country, we embrace and love it. We just want to see this hate stop." Misty said.

The swastika was used by the Nazi Party during World War II to symbolize their pride for Germany, and due to their treatment of Jews, the sign is now regarded as a symbol of terror and antisemitism.

Meanwhile, in Hunter, Oklahoma, police arrested a 44-year-old man Sunday (June 29) after he shot a woman who tried to steal one of his swastika flags in his home.

Alexander John Feaster has been detained without bond at the Garfield County Detention Facility with complaints of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon and shooting with intent to kill, according to the Jacksonville Progress.

Police reports revealed the 20-year-old woman he shot was brought to the OU Medical Center after receiving treatments at the scene. Apparently, she was acting on a dare from a party that took place across Feaster's house.
