‘Little Women: Dallas’ Star Emily Fernandez Pregnant Amid Break From Lontel Johnson
After suffering the heartbreaking loss of her 3-month-old son JJ over two years ago, “Little Women: Dallas” star Emily Fernandez is pregnant again.
Emily, who is already a mom to a daughter, Ava, gave birth to her son, Lontel Jahnar Johnson Jr. on April 27, 2016. The baby, who was born a little person, suffered from several medical complications and passed away three months later, when he was taken off of life support on Aug. 5.
During “Little Women: Dallas” Season 2, Emily expressed her desire to have another baby after losing JJ, but her boyfriend at the time, Lontel Johnson, was against the idea. However, it appears he might have changed his mind about a having another child with Emily.
On Friday, TMZ revealed Emily is 8 months pregnant with Lontel’s baby. Although the two are not together, sources said the parents have had an on-and-off relationship ever since their disagreement. Despite their frequent break-ups and make-ups, Lontel is expected to be involved in his baby’s life.
News of Emily’s pregnancy comes more than two years after she opened up about JJ’s death. During an interview with People, she detailed the medical issues her son suffered during his short life.
“My baby was having seizures in utero and doctors believe there was a problem with the placenta. Little people pregnancies are high risk and being pregnant with a little person is even more dangerous. JJ wasn’t receiving enough oxygen and he was born with blood around his brain,” the Lifetime star explained.
Although she was forced to say goodbye to her son sooner than she expected, Emily revealed her baby boy made a lasting impact on her life. “In his brief time here on Earth, he taught me the true meaning of sacrifice and everlasting love.”
“I miss my King every day, and I dedicate my life to him,” she added.
Emily, who underwent IVF treatments to conceive her baby and picked its gender, is expected to give birth within the next month. Although she has confirmed her pregnancy on Instagram, she has not shared details about the baby’s due date or gender.
