Tiger Woods, who began Saturday morning at 3 over par, picked up two shots early to get him back to just a shot over par. But bogeys at the sixth and ninth holes have put a serious dent in the 14-time major winner's hopes of progressing up the leaderboard.

Woods had one of his worst rounds ever at Augusta National yesterday, and he needs a low score today to get him into contention for tomorrow's final 18 holes.

The leaders will not be getting under way until later in the afternoon. Teeing off last of all will be veteran Fred Couples. The 52-year-old surprised everyone by shooting a 67 on Friday to give the former Masters champion a share of the lead at 5 under par.

Along with co-leader Jason Dufner, Couples will have to be at his best once again to hold off the challenge of the big names heading out to the course earlier in the afternoon.

Phil Mickelson tees off at 1.45 p.m., just three shots off the lead at 2 under par, looking to position himself for a run at his fourth Green Jacket on Sunday.

And there is a stack of big-name players just one shot back of the leaders at 4 under par. Rory McIlroy, teeing off at 2.25 p.m., is considered the new favorite by many for this year's title as he seeks to atone for his collapse at Augusta last year.

But fellow Europeans Lee Westwood and Sergio Garcia are also in the running to win what would be each's first major title.

Westwood, who is ranked the No. 3 player in the world, will have to quickly put out of his mind the double-bogey he hit Friday on the 18th hole that cost him the outright lead at 6 under par.
