Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has revealed that his side could back out of Carabao Cup's quarter-final if their fixture is not rescheduled.

As of now, Liverpool's League Cup match is clashing with their FIFA Club World Cup, which will be played in Doha in December.

The Reds qualified for the League Cup quarters, earlier this week, by defeating Arsenal on penalties in the fourth round. However, the quarter-finals are scheduled to be played the week starting from Dec. 16 but Liverpool are also lined up to play the last four of the Club World Cup on Dec. 18 in Qatar.

Klopp has made it crystal clear that if the English Football League (EFL) does not find an "appropriate" place for them, Liverpool won't play.

"If they don't find a place for us, an appropriate place, not 3 am on Christmas Day, then we don't play it. You have to think about these things. If you have a fixture list where one team cannot be part of all the games, then you have to think about it. Hopefully, it starts at one point, hopefully, it starts now," Klopp added.

"We will not be the victim of this problem. We played [on Wednesday] and we wanted to win. If they don't find a proper date for us then we cannot play the next round and whoever is our opponent will go through - or Arsenal will play it. I cannot change that," the German manager said.

The Club World Cup is played every year in December that features seven teams across six confederations. Liverpool have qualified for this year's edition after they won the UEFA Champions League last season.

Liverpool already had eight games on their schedule chart in December - one UEFA Champions League and seven Premier League fixtures. Apart from these, they now have the Carabao Cup quarter-final and either a third-fourth play-off or the final of the Club World Cup on Dec. 21.

Moreover, Premier League leaders Liverpool were due to play West Ham on Dec. 20 and that match is yet to be rearranged.
