  • Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is not keen on signing new players

  • Klopp has admitted that he like Bowen "a lot"

Liverpool might have just found another formidable striker to add to its already stacked frontline.

The Reds have continued where they left off this season and are now looking primed for another English Premier League title run.

Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has been adamant about bringing in additional players into his squad.

However, it is believed that the Merseyside club has been tracking West Ham United striker Jarrod Bowen, according to The Athletic.

The report said that Liverpool has been linked to a move for Bowen during the summer transfer window, having considered him as a suitable addition to its attack.

The Athletic’s James Pearce also bared in a recent Q&A that though Bowen is “on a long contract” with the Hammers, his situation is still something “to keep an eye on” given Liverpool is indeed interested in bringing him to Anfield.

" We revealed back in the summer that [Jarrod] Bowen was on the shortlist for attacking targets,” Pearce said. “I can see why given his outstanding form so far this season. There’s certainly interest but that’s as far as it goes currently. He’s on a long contract. One to keep an eye on."

Weighing in on the subject, Liverpool insider Emmet Gates reckoned that should the Reds pursue Bowen, they are probably looking at signing “another Diogo Jota.”

“[Diogo] Jota has been the first person that’s come along and genuinely provided competition,” Gates told Give Me Sport. “So, I think Liverpool needs someone in that mold, another Jota type signing and Bowen I think would provide that.”

While nothing is concrete yet between Liverpool and Bowen, one thing certain is that Klopp already is an admirer of the 24-year-old’s work.

“I like Bowen a lot,” Klopp previously admitted. “He made his way up from Hull and took not too long to show exactly what kind of player he can be in the Premier League. He made big steps."

Aside from Liverpool, an earlier report said that Tottenham Hotspur has also been keeping tabs on Bowen.

According to the report, Bowen’s name was included in the Spurs’ transfer wish list.

However, a transfer is unlikely to happen at least at the moment as Tottenham and West Ham have never and will never “do business” together.

If ever it progresses, the report noted that the Hammers are likely to demand “more than” the amount of Bowen’s transfer from Hull.
