As he recovers from injury, Liverpool star Diogo Jota has revealed his future plans, including one important favor he wants from Jurgen Klopp.

Without Jota, the Reds have managed to reclaim the top spot in the English Premier League standings. However, the rivaling clubs are well aware that Klopp’s four-man powerhouse of Jota, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Roberto Firmino would be a bigger threat.

Speaking about his highly-anticipated return, Jota admitted that the said formation is something he would like the Liverpool boss to consider more often.

“Can we [Jota, Mane, Salah and Firmino] play as a four more often in the future?” the Portuguese striker recently told Liverpool’s official matchday program. “You would need to ask the manager [Klopp] as he is the one that decides.”

“Now I am supporting from the outside (due to injury) it is not easy,” he added. “It's even harder when you need to suffer as a fan and you can do literally nothing to help the team on the field.”

Prior to injuring his knee, Jota has been exceptional, notching 12 goals in 27 matches for the reigning Premier League champions. As of now, the 24-year-old is likely to be out for about six more weeks, The Athletic‘s James Pearce reported.

But regardless of how many crucial matches he might miss this season, Jota assured that he is all-in to become a key figure in Klopp’s system once fully-recovered.

“When I'm fit I know I'll give my best in each training session to give myself a chance of playing,” the former Wolves star vowed. “In Portugal they used to say the hardest thing is not to arrive but to stay there. So that of course is my target.”

“Now that I have achieved a move to Liverpool I want to be a big influence in this club and that's what I try to do every day,” he continued.

Klopp first played Jota alongside Mane, Salah and Firmino against Manchester City in November. Though it won’t be a regular thing for the Reds, the renowned manager hinted at the possibility of repeating it in the future.

“It will not be our new, all-the-time formation, but there are moments when we might use it,” Klopp told The Independent of his four-man attacking force after the Manchester City draw earlier this season. “That’s very helpful for us.”

“Usually people know which system we play, that’s now water under the bridge,” he added. “From now on we can play three or four different systems, which is good, and it worked really well.”
