Logan Williams Dead: 'The Flash' Actor Dies Days Before 17th Birthday
Logan Williams, the actor who is best known for his role as the young version of Barry Allen on The CW's "The Flash," died Thursday.
Logan died suddenly at the age of 16. He was just 5 days away from celebrating his 17th birthday on April 9.
Marlyse Williams, his mother, let out the news of her son’s death through the Tri-City News. She told the reporters that the family is "absolutely devastated" by her son's passing. She said that amid the COVID-19 lockdown and restrictions, her family is unable to grieve together.
"I am not able to hug my parents who lost their only grandchild," she said. The cause of death was not revealed by the family.
Logan, who was born in Vancouver, Canada, started his career as a child actor at the age of 10 starring in the Hallmark movie “The Color of Rain,” working alongside Warren Christie and Lacey Chabert.
A year after his first appearance, he went on to act in the Lily Rabe and Milo Ventimiglia starrer horror series TV show called “The Whispers,” which was co-executive produced by Steven Spielberg. He also played Miles Montgomery, the son of Chelah Horsdal’s character Cat Montogomery, in a TV series starring Erin Krakow, Martin Cummins, and Lori Loughlin called “When Calls the Heart.”
Logan was nominated for the best newcomer at the Union of British Columbia Performers Awards in 2015.
"It's hard... With his talent and gorgeous looks, Logan had the potential to be a huge star," his mother said.
Logan later went on to appear in several TV shows, including “The Flash,” and “Supernatural." William played the young version of Barry Allen in the hit CW series, "The Flash."
His former castmates, including Grant Gustin, who plays the older version of Barry Allen on “The Flash," took to social media to share their condolences on his sudden death.
Gustin shared a photo of him and Logan on Instagram Friday.
“I was so impressed by not only Logan’s talent but his professionalism on set,” Gustin wrote in his post. “My thoughts and prayers will be with him and his family during what is I’m sure an unimaginably difficult time for them.”
