Lollapalooza 2012 Lineup: Full List of Bands, Headliners Announced for Three-Day Chicago Music Festival
The full list of bands, including headliners The Red Hot Chili Peppers, The Black Keys and Florence and the Machine on the lineup, were announced on Wednesday for Lollapalooza 2012, a three-day music festival held in Chicago, Illinois.
Every year it's kind of a nail biter putting a lineup together, Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell said during a press conference on Wednesday. There were moments when I looked at it and I was beside myself. I didn't know what to do.
Lollapalooza 2012 will also feature Black Sabbath, Jack White and Sigur Ros to round out the bill which includes more than 120 bands, with a heavy presence of both indie and mainstream acts from Europe, Chile and Australia, not to mention the U.S. from Austin to Nashville.
That lineup is just going to be so exciting and it's so diverse. I think it works so well, Farrell said.
The three-day festival at Grant Park in Chicago begins Aug. 3, just under a month after the Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival June 7-10 in Manchester, Tennessee.
Lollapalooza 2012 marks the eighth time the festival was held in Chicago, Last year, the festival sold out for all three days, with a record-breaking 270,000 guests in attendance.
Souvenir and early bird tickets for the 2012 Lollapalooza music festival have sold out but regular passes are still available for $230 at Lollapalooza.com.
