Similarly-named celebrities Kylie Minogue and Kylie Jenner have been battling over trademark rights for quite some time, but now that the Australian pop singer recently launched a new makeup line, the problem has been reignited.

According to Page Six, Jenner, 21, attempted to trademark the name "Kylie" with the U.S. Patent and Trademark office in 2015 for her makeup brand. The reality star's request was partially denied because Minogue's lawyers sent the office a letter that outlined why the trademark should not be granted, stating that she had been selling products herself for years under the "Kylie" brand.

In 2017, Minogue won her case as the patent office is said to have sided with the "Fever" singer.

When discussing the issue on "The Project" in November 2018, Minogue, 51, said, "I didn't want there to be any trouble about it, but we did have to handle it, so everything was taken care of very nicely I have to say."

The songwriter has since launched a new line of makeup products called Kylie. The products, which include lip gloss, glitter, and eyeshadow, are all named after the singer's hit songs. The brand was announced on her Instagram on Sunday, as seen below.

In February 2018, the musician told Rolling Stone that "...it was nothing personal at all, I’m at pains to say. Trademark is long, it’s boring, it’s expensive, and it’s really important. I’ve been doing that for years and years. It was just causing confusion with customers. As long as it’s clear, then we can all win," which is hopefully what will happen now that both of the Kylie makeup lines have come into existence.
