Los Angeles Kings Forward Jarret Stoll Faces 4 Years In Prison On Drug Charges
Los Angles Kings forward Jarret Stoll has been charged with felony drug possession and could face four years in prison if convicted. The Clark County (Nevada) district attorney’s office stated that Stoll has been charged with one count of possession of a controlled substance, which according to ESPN and the Los Angeles Times is cocaine and Ecstasy.
The 32-year-old Stoll was arrested in April for allegedly carrying the drugs while at a Las Vegas Strip resort swimming pool. According to the arrest report from the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department obtained by the L.A. Times, Stoll was carrying 3.3 grams of cocaine and Ecstasy.
The 12-year veteran, who is from Melville, Saskatchewan, played for the Edmonton Oilers from 2002 to 2009 and then the Kings from 2009 to 2015. He is also said to be the boyfriend of Erin Andrews, a sportscaster for Fox Sports.
Stoll is set to become a free agent July 1. Being involved in a drug case, it is expected that teams will be hesitant to sign him to any deal for next season.
