The Los Angeles Lakers host the Atlanta Hawks on Friday, January 6 at the Crypto.com Arena with both teams looking to start a winning streak.

For the Lakers, they are coming off a big win over the Miami Heat, 112-109, despite the absence of LeBron James and Anthony Davis.

In that game, the Lakers were led by German guard Dennis Schroder who erupted for 32 points while also collecting four rebounds and four steals.

Thomas Bryant backed up Schroder with 21 markers and nine boards.

The last time the Lakers and the Hawks met on December 30, it was Los Angeles who came out on top, 130-121.

That was the same game where James scored a game-high 47 points and grabbed 10 boards.

The Lakers are averaging 115.6 points per game on 48% shooting from the field.

Defensively, they are limiting opponents to 117.6 points on 47.3% shooting from the field.

Aside from James and Davis, listed as day-to-day are Russell Westbrook, Troy Brown Jr. and Damian Jones.

Out for this game opposite the Hawaks will be Austin Reaves and Lonnie Walker IV.

For the Hawks, they are looking to follow up on their previous win over the Sacramento Kings, 120-117.

John Collins and De'Andre Hunter led the way for the Hawks with 22 points each.

Trae Young and Dejounte Murray also had good games as both finished with 21 points apiece.

Atlanta is averaging 114.3 points offensively and shooting 46.6%.

On the defensive end, they are limiting the opposition to 115.1 points and 47.4% shooting from the field. Listed as out for this game is Clint Capella.

The Lakers are slight favorites with a -1 spread to prevail over the Hawks, who are at +1.

Meanwhile, the Moneyline is -130 for the Purple and Gold and +110 for Atlanta.

The Lakers vs. Hawks game is expected to be a close encounter despite the former being tipped to win.
