Los Angeles Lakers News: Chris Bosh Says L.A. is Better than the Miami Heat ‘On Paper’

After a making a few blockbuster trades in the offseason, the Los Angeles Lakers may be the best team in the NBA.

Chris Bosh said as much in a recent radio interview.

The Miami Heat forward told the "Kup & Goldie Show" on WQAM in Miami that "the Lakers have the best team on paper." The Heat beat the Thunder in the NBA Finals in five games, just a few months ago.

L.A. has been more active than any team since the 2011-12 season ended. First, they traded multiple draft picks to the Suns in exchange for Steve Nash. A month later, they finally acquired Dwight Howard, trading Andrew Bynum to the 76ers in a four-team deal.

Adding Nash and Howard to a team that already includes Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol certainly makes them one of the favorites to win the championship in 2013. Los Angeles now has four potential All-Stars in their starting lineup.

Miami is returning three All-Stars in Bosh, LeBron James and Dwyane Wade. James won his third MVP in four years en route to his first ever title.

The Heat didn't make any major trades in the offseason, but they made a few free agent signings to improve their squad.

Ray Allen left the rival Celtics to sign a three-year contract with the Heat. The most prolific three-point shooter in NBA history will likely come off the bench for Miami. He averaged 14.2 points per game on 39.5 percent shooting from beyond the arc with Boston last season.

Rashard Lewis also joins the Heat, after missing more than half of last season. The 14-year veteran averaged 7.8 points and 3.9 rebounds per game with the Wizards.

According to the online sportsbook Bovada, the Heat still have the best chance of winning the title next year. The site sets their odds of repeating at 9/4. The Lakers are right behind them at 5/2.
