KEY POINTS

  • Oceania, South America and Estonia have been added to "Lost Ark's" list of supported regions
  • There will be no dedicated servers for Oceania despite the added support
  • South American servers will be closed during the upcoming closed beta test

More countries will be able to hop into “Lost Ark” once the game actually releases following additional server support provided by Amazon Games Studio, the company behind the western release of the massively-popular Korean MMO.

Three new regions will be added to “Lost Ark’s” current list of supported areas, with Estonia, Latin America and Oceania joining the ranks. These regions will introduce a combined total of 34 additional countries that will have access to “Lost Ark” upon the game’s release, according to an official dev statement.

The developers are currently looking at how exactly these regions will be supported once servers go live, as the sheer amount of newly-added regions could potentially impact the launch schedule that Amazon Games Studios originally set for the game.

Unfortunately, there will be no localizations for the native languages of these newly-added regions. “Lost Ark’s” language selection will only support English, Spanish, German and French.

However, out-of-game outlets such as stores, websites and customer service will be adjusted to provide lingual support for Brazilian Portuguese and Latin American Spanish. Implementation for these languages will be announced at a later date.

“Lost Ark” will now have dedicated servers for the South American region alongside the original North American and Central European ones. There are currently no plans to add any dedicated servers for Australia and New Zealand, but Amazon Games Studios is currently evaluating the possibility of adding regional server support for these countries.

A closed beta for “Lost Ark” is currently scheduled to run from Nov. 4 until Nov. 11. Eligible players from all of the allowed regions will be able to join the beta given that they received an invitation. However, the South American servers will not be up during this test, so players in the region will have to play in the North American servers instead.
