Louisiana-Lafayette Uses Six Players in Basketball Game (See VIDEO)
Among the strangest plays early in this 2012 season came during a college basketball game this week when Louisiana-Lafayette's six players helped the team defeat Western Kentucky in the final seconds of the game.
The teams were tied 70-70 with just 21 seconds left in overtime in the Division 1 NCAA basketball game on Jan. 5. Louisiana-Lafayette inbounded the ball, but the team had six players on the floor. Nobody seem to notice, however -- not even the game's referees. Elfrid Payton took the ball to a game-winning layup with three seconds left, and the time expired with the Ragin' Cajuns claiming the 72-70 victory.
It wasn't until after the minutes after the game that the referees figured out that Louisiana-Lafayette had six players on the court. And it was too late to do anything about it. See the remarkable video for yourself:
