‘Love Actually’ Cast Reunites For 10-Minute Sequel For Red Nose Day

The cast of “Love Actually” will reunite for a 10-minute sequel that will be screened on Red Nose Day.

According to The Guardian, “Love Actually” script editor Emma Freud previously told fans that Alan Rickman’s Harry and Emma Thompson’s Karen remain married, but are not happy. Keira Knightley’s Juliet and Andrew Lincoln’s Mark never got into a relationship. But on Wednesday night, “Love Actually” creator Richard Curtis announced that more information about the lives of the other characters will be unveiled in the sequel.

The cast members who have signed on for the project include Knightley, Lincoln, Hugh Grant, Colin Firth, Lucia Moniz, Liam Neeson, Martine McCutcheon, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Olivia Olson, Bill Nighy, Marcus Brigstocke and Rowan Atkinson. Unfortunately, Thompson has not signed on to be part of the sequel. Rickman passed away in January 2016.

“I would never have dreamt of writing a sequel to ‘Love Actually,’ but I thought it might be fun to do 10 minutes to see what everyone is now up to. Who has aged best? I guess that’s the big question – or is it obviously Liam? We’ve been delighted and grateful that so many of the cast are around and able to take part – and it’ll certainly be a nostalgic moment getting back together and recreating their characters 14 years later. We hope to make something that’ll be fun and which we hope will help bring lots of viewers and cash to the Red Nose Day shows,” he told Entertainment Weekly.

The “Love Actually” sequel will air on BBC1 on March 24 in the United Kingdom. It will air in the U.S. on May 25 on NBC.
