‘Love Under The Olive Tree’ Hallmark Channel Movie Premiere: Cast, Trailer, Synopsis
Hallmark Channel’s “A Little Romance” event is already coming to an end, with the premiere of the final new film, “Love Under the Olive Tree,” starring Tori Anderson and Ben Hollingsworth.
Fans may recognize the leads, though neither has been a recent Hallmark staple. In fact, Anderson only has one film credit for the network to her name, previously having a role in “Return to Christmas Creek” on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries in 2018. While she may be a bit of a newbie for Hallmark, fans may still know her for some of her other television roles, which include Sabine in “Killjoys,” Queen Titania in “The Other Kingdom,” Evie Covington in “No Tomorrow” and Blake Crawford in “Blindspot.”
As for Hollingsworth, while his recent credits only include “A Godwink Christmas: Meant For Love” on Hallmark Movies and Mysteries in 2019, he might still be recognizable for some of the fans from a few years back. He also appeared in the Movies and Mysteries film “Signed, Sealed, Delivered” in 2013, and starred in three Hallmark Channel films-- “Coming Home For Christmas” (2013), “Lucky In Love” (2014) and “A Wish Come True” (2015)--as well. In between his stints at Hallmark, he also notably portrayed the roles of Mario Savetti on “Code Black” and Dan Brady on “Virgin River.”
So what will happen when these two get together to bring their energy to a Hallmark movie in 2020? Let’s find out.
“Nicole (Anderson) has plans to expand her family’s Northern California olive oil business until childhood crush Jake Brandini (Hollingsworth), heir apparent to the neighboring ranch and her biggest competitor, discovers the land where Nicole wants to build on may belong to his family, stemming from a decades-long feud since their grandfathers ended this partnership,” a synopsis reads.
When the two fail to reach an agreement as to who should have the land, they are thrust together in a competition to see who will win it fair and square—but things won’t be as easy as they think since sparks will quickly fly between them, even as their families disapprove.
“When a local judge decides to resolve the dispute by awarding it to the winner of the upcoming olive oil competition, the flames are further fanned between the families, but Nicole and Jake begin to find common ground and a romance develops as the big competition looms,” the synopsis says.
Will love prevail, or will the competition settle not only their families’ feuds but their future as well?
“Love Under the Olive Tree” premieres Saturday, June 20 at 9 p.m. EDT on Hallmark Channel.
