"Little People, Big World" star Zach Roloff is recovering from emergency brain surgery after "a scary 72 hours."

Zach's wife Tori Roloff shared the news via an emotional Instagram post Thursday, along with photos of her husband in a hospital bed with his head wrapped in gauze and monitors attached to his chest.

"Not exactly how we saw our week going," Tori began her post. "Zachary had emergency shunt revision this morning. It's been a scary 72 hours, but he is doing well and recovering!!"

Tori did not disclose what caused Zach to require the operation, but she wrote that she hoped the procedure would help him with his "migraines."

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, a shunt is "a hollow tube surgically placed in the brain (or occasionally in the spine) to help drain cerebrospinal fluid and redirect it to another location in the body where it can be reabsorbed."

Shunt procedures address "pressure on the brain caused by hydrocephalus and relieve its symptoms," which include difficulty walking, mild dementia and loss of bladder control.

Tori thanked the neurosurgeon team for being attentive to Zach's needs. The TV personality and professional photographer also expressed her gratitude for the support from their friends and family, especially those who reached out and asked how to help.

"We feel so loved and supported by you," she wrote.

Tori gave a special shoutout to her mother-in-law, Amy Roloff, who looked after her and Zach's children while she cared for her husband in the hospital.

"Also shout out to @amyjroloff for holding down the fort and playing hide [and] seek for who knows how many hours," Tori wrote of Amy.

"I'm here praying that Zach's recovery is quick and easy and that this will be our answered prayers to relieving his migraines!" she added, before concluding her post with a special message for her husband. "You're a freaking [bada--], Zach. You just had brain surgery... and handled it like a rockstar. I'm so proud of you."

Zach and Tori, who wed in 2015, share three children: Jackson, 5, Lilah Ray, 2, and Josiah Luke, 9 months.

Zach's dad, Matt Roloff, also took to Instagram Thursday to ask fans for prayers for his son's recovery.

"Family has been in constant contact and communication. We are all praying for Zach as he undergoes [an] important shunt revision," Matt wrote. "He's in good hands with Tori advocating tooth and nail for his best interest... all prayers up please for Zach's successful recovery."
