‘Lucifer’ Season 3 Spoilers: ‘Maze The Bounty Hunter’ Promo Released [WATCH]
“Lucifer” Season 3, episode 3 will primarily center on Maze (Lesley Ann-Brandt).
“Mr. and Mrs. Mazikeen Smith” will see Maze heading to Canada to handle a case all on her own. In the sneak peek released by Fox for Monday night’s episode, Maze tells Lucifer that she wants to start doing her own thing. Lucifer reminds her that she was sent to Earth to protect her, but she replies by saying that she needs to handle some things on her own.
Before leaving to work as a bounty hunter in Canada, Maze first asks permission from her best friend, Dr. Linda (Rachael Harris). The latter is also hesitant to allow her to do stuff on her own, but Maze is dead set on doing what she wants to do.
The rest of the one-minute clip shows Maze talking to unnamed men, fighting with other male characters and showing off just how smart and talented she really is. The Maze-centered installment is the first of the four standalone episodes that will be featured in “Lucifer” Season 3.
All four episodes were supposed to be part of “Lucifer” Season 2, but due to some conflicts in schedule, showrunner Joe Henderson announced that they will just be part of Season 3. In August, Henderson told TV Line that the four installments won’t affect that overarching story for Season 3.
“What these episodes do is begin new story for our characters. There’s an episode that’s Maze-centric – sort of like our take on James Bond, if he was a female demon assassin – so when that episode airs, we’ll start a whole bunch of story for Maze’s character,” he said.
All four standalone episodes won’t also be released right after each other. Instead, they will be distributed throughout Season 3. At least one episode will also be dedicated to Chloe Decker (Lauren German), as well as Lucifer (Tom Ellis) and Ella (Aimee Garcia) when they head to Las Vegas together. Dr. Linda will also have one episode all to herself in the coming weeks.
“Lucifer” Season 3, episode 3 will air on Monday at 8 p.m. EDT on Fox.
