Luke Air Force Base incident was not terrorist driven: Investigator
Two men were shot by security offers after they crashed through a gate at the Luke Air Force Base in Litchfield, just outside Phoenix.
At 11 p.m. Monday night two men ran the main base entrance gate with their car following a police chase, said Capt. Gonzales, a spokesman at Luke Air Force Base, according to the Associated Press.
A security forces officer had confronted the two men inside who were inside the stolen car. When the officer got out of his car to try to make contact with the two men, the car drove directly at him. The officer shot at the car, which then crashed.
One of the men died and the other was wounded and transported to a hospital.
According to early analysis, investigators do not suspect terrorism, but suspect the men were instead car thieves.
