Luxury airline Alitalia bags 'Best Airline Cuisine' award
Italy's leading airline, Alitalia, has been awarded 'Best Airline Cuisine' by the readers of Global Traveler magazine.
The GT Tested Reader Survey Awards will be presented on January 18, 2011 in New York City.
From January 1 to August 31, 2010, the magazine conducted an open-ended reader survey to determine the best in many categories of business and luxury travel. The December issue of the GT features Alitalia as the winner of the 'Best Airline Cuisine' award.
This year, the airline introduced regional Italian cuisine in its Magnifica Class cabin as part of a larger initiative to offer customers an authentic Italian experience.
We're honored to win this award. Since implementing our new service in Magnifica Class, we have received high customer satisfaction for the quality of the menus and cuisine. With the new Italian menus we offer our customers a real high quality 'Made in Italy' experience, said Andrea Stolfa, Executive Vice President Marketing, Network and Revenue Management at Alitalia.
Taking special care to ensure a personalized experience, Alitalia introduced the Italian cuisine program. The group has added many products that are certified as authentic to the region in the dishes served on board. Each of the items is paired with wines that are hand-selected by the Italian Sommelier Association.
In addition to this, the Magnifica Class service also includes linens designed by Italian luxury brand Frette, tableware designed by Richard Ginori and personal care items created by Culti.
