Luxury Heist: Louis Vuitton’s $40,000 Worth Merchandise Stolen
Following the well-planned robbery of designer Marc Jacobs SS2012 collection earlier this month, luxury thieves have made yet another heist. This time, targeted the high-end French fashion brand Louis Vuitton.
Around $40,000 worth Louis Vuitton bags have been stolen by hooded robbers from the cargo section of Paris's Charles de Gaulle airport.
As per reports by AFP, the robbery took place just after midnight Nov. 25. The masked thieves held five employees hostage while they loaded two trucks with ten skids of the Louis Vuitton merchandise.
Although the French police are investigating the heist, no further details are available on the probe. On the other hand, Louis Vuitton officials also declined to comment on the robbery.
Similar to the previous heist of Marc Jacob's collection, the real motive behind the recent case has not been identified.
However, many believe that counterfeiters may be involved behind such cases. According to reports, this may enable such counterfeiters to stock the market with cheap copies of such products as the originals get displayed at the designer stores.
