MacBook Pro 2016, Surface Book 2 Release Date Delayed?
Previous rumors had suggested that the Apple MacBook Pro 2016 and Microsoft Surface Book 2 would launch be unveiled in the next month. However, fresh information suggests that the arrival of both the devices have been delayed.
MacBook Pro 2016 is expected to launch with overhaul improvements such as thinner and lighter design, keyboard with OLED panel and Touch ID fingerprint sensor. KGI Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has predicted that that MacBook Pro 2016 will be introduced in the last quarter of this year.
The Surface Book 2 was expected to rival MacBook Pro 2016 in June but there are couple of reports indicate that the Microsoft laptop-tablet device will be available in 2017. Rumors have it that the Redmond is trying to include a 4K resolution display and Thunderbolt 3 in Surface Book 2. However, inclusion of these features are causing conflicts to the existing design of the device.
Speculations also suggest that the Surface Book 2 will be powered by Intel Kaby Lake processors. The Core i5 and i7 Kaby Lake processors are said to be faster and efficient than the Skylake chipsets.
The original Surface Book when used in tablet mode can run for 4 hours and when it is docked, it can last up to 8 hours. The new processor will also help in significantly improving the battery performance of Surface Book 2. It is also expected to arrive with USB Type-C port.
Since the Kaby Lake processors are slated to get announced later this year, the Surface Book 2 powered by this new Intel chipset will probably arrive in 2017. The Redmond giant will probably launch the Surface Book 2 with newer features of Windows 10. The company is expected to unleash Windows 10 Redstone 2 in spring 2017, ZD Net reported. Hence, the Surface Book 2 release date is now rumored to have been pushed to spring 2017.
