Maci Bookout Cries Over Ryan Edwards In 'Teen Mom Original Girls' Sneak Peek Video

It’s been over two years since “Teen Mom” premiered its last episode, but not much has changed for lead Maci Bookout. In a sneak peek of MTV's “Teen Mom Original Girls," also known as "Teen Mom" Season 5, Maci visits a therapist and shares her despondency regarding the actions of her son Bentley’s father, Ryan Edwards.

“My boyfriend of two years just moved here from Texas,” Maci tells couples therapist Dr. Carol Stoney in the clip that aired as part of MTV’s “Teen Mom: Getting To Know” special Sunday. “As far as me and Ryan and Bentley are concerned.... He’s very, very absent. Very.”

Despite her contempt for Ryan, Maci, 23, says she is adamant that their 6-year-old son Bentley remain in the dark regarding the alleged truth about his dad’s behavior. “You know, I don’t want to lie to Bentley and tell him that everything’s great and awesome,” Maci shares as she wipes away tears. “But I also don’t want to ruin the picture of his dad that he has in his head. I don’t want to break his heart.”

After the therapist tells Maci she is aware of her feelings for Ryan, calling him "important," Maci agrees by nodding her head while tears well up in her eyes. “I’m angry, and I’m like, 'Why should you be a part of it, you don’t deserve it,'” Maci says of Ryan’s parenting.

Later on in the special, which looked back at Maci’s “16 and Pregnant” and “Teen Mom” episodes, Maci dished about whether she and Ryan, 26, will ever get back together. Maci, who is on the verge of becoming engaged and is expecting a baby girl this summer with her boyfriend Taylor McKinney -- he also made a cameo in the special! -- said rekindling a romance with Ryan is out of the question. “I want the best for him, and I care about him. Am I in love with him? No,” Maci dished, adding, “And I think Ryan feels the exact same way about me.”

This isn’t the first sneak peek of “Teen Mom Original Girls” that has been released by MTV. Earlier this month, the network shared another clip of Maci feuding with Ryan over Bentley’s visitation. In the sneak peek, Maci decides to bring Bentley to Ryan’s parents' house after he fails to pick up their son on time.

“He’s always late,” Bentley says in the clip.

“Teen Mom Original Girls” premieres on MTV Monday, March 23, at 10 p.m. EST. The docuseries will also star Farrah Abraham, Catelynn Lowell and Amber Portwood.
