Maddie Ziegler Begins Promoting ‘The Book Of Henry’ Movie, Is Absent In Official Poster
Moviegoers are inching closer to the premiere of “The Book of Henry.” Focus Features released the first official poster for the drama Tuesday and sadly for Maddie Ziegler fans, she’s nowhere to be seen.
While the Colin Trevorrow-directed film stars heavy hitters Naomi Watts and Sarah Silverman, to name a few, the promo focuses on two of the movie’s younger stars. Actors Jacob Tremblay and Jaeden Lieberher are pictured in the shot facing a blackboard filled with various academic scribbles. “Never leave things undone,” reads the tagline.
“Made a film with some of my favorite actors. A few of them are adults,” Trevorrow said of the poster on Twitter following its debut. Ziegler, who plays the family’s neighbor, Christina Sickleman, also touted the poster online Tuesday. “Can’t wait for you guys to see this. Loved working with this amazing cast,” the 14-year-old wrote on Twitter.
The poster marks the second time the movie has been promoted without an appearance from Ziegler. In June, Empire Online published a still from the movie featuring Tremblay and Leiberher. While the “Dance Moms” alum wasn’t pictured, Trevorrow made sure to tout her and her fellow female cast member’s performances while promoting the photo.
“Come for these two stays for [Maddie] and [Sarah] and Naomi Watts,” he wrote. “We humbly seek your support.”
“The Book of Henry” follows a single mother (Watts) as she attempts to raise two boys Henry (Lieberher) and Peter (Tremblay), the oldest of which is a genius. The original screenplay was penned by novelist Gregg Hurwitz. Rated PG-13, the film is expected to hit select theaters June 16, 2017.
