Maddie Ziegler Shares The Biggest Lesson She Learned From 'The Greatest' Singer Sia
Maddie Ziegler has once again shared some details about her friendship with Sia.
Just recently, the 13-year-old professional dancer told People that she learned a lot from the “Cheap Thrills” singer, whom she considers as one of her best friends in the industry. “I’ve learned a lot from her. She’s definitely helped me feel comfortable in my own skin. I always had a fear my teeth were too big, I wanted to fix them. But she told me not to. She said, ‘It’s what makes you you.’ She always reminds me to stay true to myself,” she said.
Ziegler added that even though Sia is much older than her, they are comfortable around each other, saying, “Even though she might be older than me, we are best friends.”
Meanwhile, Ziegler has become more at peace with her features, as well as her flaws. In fact, the “Elastic Heart” dancer said that there’s nothing about her that she wishes to change. “I can’t be perfect at everything and I don’t want to look perfect because I learned to be comfortable and flaws are actually beautiful,” she said.
Ziegler and Sia’s friendship has translated to a professional partnership. Not only is Ziegler Sia’s go-to person when it comes to her music videos, but the award-winning singer has also tapped the former “Dance Moms” star to play the lead role in her upcoming movie, “Sister.”
While speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, Sia clarified that the movie is not a “vanity project,” even though it is based on the story she wrote eight years ago.
In other news, Ziegler will also be joining Sia in her upcoming “Nostalgic For the Present Tour” that will kick off at the Key Arena in Seattle on Thursday, Sept. 29. The tour will end on Nov. 6 at the Frank Erwin Center in Austin, Texas. Tickets may be purchased online at siamusic.net/tour.
