Maddie Ziegler’s Boyfriend Jack Kelly Speaks Out About Her Accomplishments

Jack Kelly couldn’t be prouder of Maddie Ziegler. The Australian teen recently took to social media to gush about his girlfriend’s achievements.

After securing the win for choice dancer at the Teen Choice Awards this past weekend, Jack went to Instagram where he praised the former “Dance Moms” star’s success. “Congratulations to my girl for winning choice dancer,” Jack posted to his account. “So proud of you bub!! Love you,” he added, including a purple heart emoji. The post included a shot of Maddie smiling while enjoying a drink.

Maddie had equally nice comments to say about Jack during the award show’s blue carpet event. “It’s great. I always get really like giddy about it,” Maddie told ET Online when asked about her relationship. “I’m just happy!”

And while Maddie didn’t publicly respond to her boyfriend’s congratulatory post, she did release a thank you message to those who supported her ahead of her second consecutive Teen Choice win in the category. “I can’t thank you guys enough for voting me as your choice dancer for the 2nd time!! I love you all so so much and I’m so thankful,” she wrote on Twitter after Sunday’s show.

Maddie and Jack have been very open with their relationship on social media. Most recently, they celebrated their eight-month anniversary, with Jack posting a tribute to their momentous day on Instagram on Aug. 1. “8 months,” he captioned a shot of the two walking hand-in-hand on a beach. Maddie recognized their anniversary by posting a different photo of them holding hands.

Weeks prior, Jack promoted Maddie’s YouTube channel by sharing a snapshot from their shared “My Boyfriend Does My Makeup” video, posted below. Earlier that same month, Jack opened up about being able spend time with his girlfriend.

“I’d like to thank my beautiful girl for the best two weeks ever. I love you and miss you so much, only 2 months!!! Love you,” he wrote on Instagram. During their time together, the couple enjoyed a visit to a Six Flags theme park, bonded with Maddie’s little sister Mackenzie Ziegler, swam and relaxed with friends.

While it appears Maddie is focused on her relationship, she hasn’t let her career slip. She recently dished about her move from dance to acting, telling Mane Addicts she hopes her chops, which she showed off on the big screen in June’s “The Book of Henry,” made a good impression.

“This is the first time people are going to see me [acting] so I hope they take me seriously as an actress and don’t categorize me as a dancer, or say she’s in the Sia videos, or she’s on ‘Dance Moms.’ Now I act too, and I don’t want people to just see me as a dancer,” she told the publication.

Next up for Maddie is the Aug. 25 release of the animated film “Leap!” followed by “Sister,” which is currently filming and is due to premiere in 2018.
