Maddie Ziegler’s Emotional Reunion With ‘Dance Moms’ Co-Star Caught On Camera

Maddie Ziegler has reunited with one of her longtime “Dance Moms” co-stars, but not for the sake of the Lifetime series. The reality star revealed she and former teammate Kalani Hilliker met up over the weekend to celebrate their birthdays.

After sharing a sweet snap of Kalani on Instagram, Maddie revealed she flew to Arizona to spend time with her off-screen bestie on Sunday. “Came to AZ to celebrate our birthdays!!!” Maddie captioned a shot of her and Kalani. Their airport reunion was also caught on camera. A short clip shows the girls running at one another for a big hug.

Kalani’s mother, Kira Girard, revealed the girls spent the day doing fun activities. The fellow “Dance Moms” star shared pictures of the birthday girls at Escape The Room, while Kalani’s stepfather-to-be, David Newman, posted a shot of the girls holding helmets after a go-kart race.

Kalani, who turned 16 on Sept. 23, has been celebrating her big day for the past week. On Thursday, she was surprised with a white Range Rover. The present reveal was shared on Instagram by coach Abby Lee Miller and filmed by the “Dance Moms” crew. Kalani continued to ring in her big day with a party. “Sweetest 16 I could ask for,” Kalani captioned a shot of her posing with her new ride following the festivities.

Maddie isn’t due to celebrate her 14th birthday until Sep. 30, but it’s clear why she decided to celebrate early. Not only did she perform alongside Sia at the iHeartRadio Music Festival in Las Vegas on Friday, her clothing line is also about to launch. Maddie is due to hit the Web and select Nordstrom locations in early October. Meanwhile, “The Book of Henry,” Maddie’s first feature film, was originally scheduled to also be released around her birthday but has since been pushed back until 2017.

The cast of “Dance Moms” is in the midst of shooting Season 7. Kalani was last spotted alongside her elite junior teammates at New York Dance Experience in Dublin, California, on Saturday.

While Lifetime continues production on the upcoming season, new Season 6 episodes are currently airing on the network. Catch the next installment, “Mommy Meltdown,” Tuesday at 9 p.m. EDT.
