Madison LeCroy Reacts To Alex Rodriguez, Jennifer Lopez Split Amid Affair Rumors
KEY POINTS
- Madison LeCroy is wishing Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez well after their split
- Rumors previously linked the "Southern Charm" star with Rodriguez
- She earlier claimed she has only talked to Rodriguez over the phone and never met him in person
Madison LeCroy broke her silence after Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez confirmed that they have called it quits.
On Thursday, Rodriguez and Lopez released a statement announcing that they have ended their two-year engagement and that they are "better as friends." The "Southern Charm" star, who was previously linked to the ex-Yankee slugger, had a simple response when asked by Page Six for comment about their split.
"I wish them the best," LeCroy told the outlet.
When reports first surfaced last month that Lopez and Rodriguez were parting ways, LeCroy had remained mum, only telling Page Six, "You kind of caught me off guard."
The 30-year-old reality star had been entangled in rumors that she and Rodriguez had an affair while he was with Lopez. This stemmed from her "Southern Charm" co-star Danni Baird's accusation on the "Reality Life With Kate Casey" podcast that LeCroy has been FaceTiming with the former MLB star.
Andy Cohen had previously asked LeCroy about the rumor on the Bravo reality series' Season 7 special. The name was "bleeped" out on the show, but the host mentioned a "very famous, married ex-MLB player" when he referred to the man, leading to speculations that it was Rodriguez.
Unnamed sources "close" to Rodriguez denied the rumors, with one claiming to the New York Post that the former MLB player doesn't know LeCroy.
"He doesn’t know this woman," the source said. "Look, does this mean he didn’t DM her and liked a photo or two? I guess not, but he doesn’t know her — and he definitely didn’t hook up with her."
Meanwhile, the reality star told Page Six in February that they only spoke on the phone and "never met up." LeCroy also denied the rumors claiming she flew to Miami to hook up with Lopez's then-fiancé.
"That’s the truth," LeCroy said, insisting that she and Rodriguez have "never been physical… never had any kind of anything. Just an acquaintance."
"He’s never physically cheated on his fiancée with me," she added.
Last month, Page Six reported that Lopez and Rodriguez had broken up, with one unnamed insider claiming the split had something to do with his rumored affair with LeCroy.
"The Madison LeCroy scandal was the reason they finally broke up. There were already problems, but Jennifer was really embarrassed by it," the source told the outlet.
Rodriguez and Lopez immediately released a statement saying they "were working through some things." However, the two made their split official this week.
"We have realized we are better as friends and look forward to remaining so," they wrote in a joint statement to the "Today" show. "We will continue to work together and support each other on our shared businesses and projects. We wish the best for each other and one another's children. Out of respect for them, the only other comment we have to say is thank you to everyone who has sent kind words and support."
