'Magicka' Steps into Madness with New Cthulhu-Inspired Expansion
Magicka is introducing some mind-bending new Cthulhu content in a new expansion: The Stars are Left. As Magicka's Arrowhead Game Studios puts it: Ph'nglui Mglw'nafh Cthulhu Magicka Wgah'nagl Fhtagn.
Magicka is a cult action-adventure PC game featuring miniature wizards and a wicket sense of humor. The core of the game is the magic system that allows players to combine eight different elements and discharge them through hundreds of different spell combinations. The game supports up to 4-player co-op and has recently released player-versus-player combat.
The next expansion is inspired by H.P Lovecraft's Cthulhu lore. The Cthulhu Mythos is a popular theme in pop culture and is the center of all of Lovecraft's work. Cthulhu is a being who, in the fiction, is a sub-conscious source of constant anxiety for all of mankind, calling us to madness. In the books, he is worship by many cults trying to bring an end to the world. It's basically a giant human-like dragon with and an octopus for a face trapped at the bottom of the sea in a city called R'lyeh.
Magicka: The Stars are Left, is a continuation of the popular game; the latest in a long line of expansions. Here is a list of the game additions from the developer's Web site:
An all-new adventure, several levels long, allowing players to get lost in space and time
2 new challenge maps
2 new robes
