Maks Chmerkovskiy, Vanessa Lachey Spotted Hugging After ‘DWTS’ Season 25 Drama
Following an alleged rift between “Dancing with the Stars” Season 25 cast members Maks Chmerkovskiy and Vanessa Lachey, the dance partners were spotted hugging it out in public this weekend. The gesture is said to be proof that the two have already moved on from the drama that ensued between them in the previous weeks.
Just this Saturday, Chmerkoskiy and Lachey were spotted leaving the rehearsals for the show together in Los Angeles. At the parking lot, the two appeared to have hugged before entering their separate rides. Lachey was even seen with a huge smile on her face during the gesture that seemed to have put an end to the rumored rift between them.
Prior to their friendly cuddle, several sources claimed that the Ukrainian pro dancer and the television personality were clashing on set because of their strong personalities, according to E! News. The two were reportedly not seeing eye-to-eye, leading to tension behind camera.
The drama intensified when Chmerkosvkiy decided to skip last week’s show, claiming that he couldn’t be there for Lachey due to personal issues. In a tweet he wrote last Wednesday, Chmerkovskiy stated, “As you are all aware, I had to leave the show last week to take care of some personal issues. I take full responsibility for my actions ...”
In the wake of Chmerkovskiy’s explanation, an insider told Us Weekly what was really going on between the two. “Their personalities are very similar so they disagree about everything. They refuse to give into one another. They’re playing nice for the cameras but both are miserable paired with each other — there is a lot of fighting going on behind the scenes,” the insider said.
Chmerkosvkiy’s absence forced Lachey to perform on “DWTS” Season 25 with Alan Bersten. It can be noted that Bersten also filled in for Chmerkovskiy last season when the latter injured his calf muscle while rehearsing with partner Heather Morris at the time.
Now that Chmerkovskiy is back to rehearsing with Lachey, things are reportedly going well for the partners. “They have already rehearsed this week. Things are good. It’s water under the bridge. Things are returning to normal,” a source revealed.
