Mama June Shannon officially lost the custody of her youngest daughter Alana "Honey Boo Boo" Thompson to her other child, Lauryn "Pumpkin" Thompson.
A judge in Georgia granted Lauryn sole custody of her younger sister, and she will decide the visitation rights that will be granted to their mom, based on the court documents filed on April 11 and obtained by Page Six.
Shannon is allowed to contact Alana by phone every day, and she will have to pay Lauryn $800 monthly in child support until Alana, who is still 16, turns 18.
Based on the court documents, Shannon makes approximately $25,000 per month. However, the amount depends on "production and endorsements." At the time of the filing, Shannon's reality show "Mama June: Road to Redemption" "had not been renewed for a new season," and her only "certain income is [a] disability in the amount of $1,015.00 per month."
Shannon's 22-year-old daughter, Lauryn, was awarded temporary guardianship over Alana in August 2019, with their dad Mike "Sugar Bear" Thompson's permission, following Shannon's arrest on drug possession charges with then-boyfriend Geno Doak.
The outlet noted that losing the custody would be a huge blow to the "Mama June: From Not to Hot" star, especially since she has been working on rebuilding her relationship with Honey Boo Boo. Despite that, the celebrity mom of four clarified in an interview with Entertainment Tonight in May that "the door is always open" for the "Toddlers & Tiaras" star.
"Our relationship is going good. You'll see that throughout the season," Shannon told ET. "[Alana] is turning 17 in August. So, that's the thing. She is graduating next year. A lot of people still look at her as that 6-year-old little girl, but she's [grown up]."
Meanwhile, Shannon is currently enjoying her time with her husband, Justin Stroud. The pair secretly wed at a courthouse in Georgia on March 23.
On May 24, the newlyweds were spotted packing on the PDA while vacationing in Panama City. They canoodled in the pool throughout the day, not minding the onlookers.
