Mama June Weight Loss Update: Reality Star To Appear On ‘Botched’ To Remove Excess Skin
“Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” star Mama June Shannon is jumping from reality-TV show to reality-TV show. She is currently starring on WeTV’s “Marriage Boot Camp,” and will reportedly appear on the E network’s “Botched” to remove excess skin after she lost more than 100 pounds.
“Botched” is a plastic-surgery series centering on Dr. Paul Nassif and Dr. Terry Dubrow, a husband on “The Real Housewives of Orange County,” as they correct mistakes made in previous surgeries. Mama June, as she is best known, will reportedly get a makeover by the doctors, “Entertainment Tonight” co-host Kevin Frazier said.
The host posted a photograph of himself with Mama June on Instagram Sunday, with the caption of the image giving away her apparent stint on “Botched.” He wrote: “Look who was on my flight @real_honeybooboo_mamajune31054 #mamajune she’s in town to shoot an episode for the show @botched ... She has lost so much weight she is now gonna get the extra skin removed .... #goodluck.”
Mama June began to eat healthier and even added some light exercise into her daily routine a while back. “I haven’t been drinking as much soda — just water and stuff,” she told In Touch Weekly in July 2014. “We’ve been eating a lot of chicken and baked foods. I also snack on grapes and cheese cubes throughout the day.” She added: “I’m happy with the way I am now, but I was also happy with myself when I was 400 pounds. I taught myself and my kids that you’ve got to be comfortable, no matter what your size.”
TLC canceled “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo” after reports claimed Mama June was dating convicted child molester Mark McDaniel. McDaniel was convicted of molesting her oldest daughter, Anna Cardwell. Mama June has denied she was romantic with McDaniel.
She’s currently working on her relationship with her estranged husband, Mike “Sugar Bear” Thompson. “Me and Sugar’s been in a relationship for a little over 11 years, and it’s in serious trouble, because Sugar’s been cheating, and I’m hoping to get some answers,” she said on the show. “My daughter, Alana, found proof and that’s what really devastated me!”
“Marriage Boot Camp” airs on WeTV Friday at 9 p.m. EST.
