Mama June’s Daughters Alana, Lauryn Celebrate Easter Sans Estranged Mom Ahead Of Reunion Episode

“Mama June: Road To Redemption” star Mama June Shannon was nowhere to be found when her family celebrated Easter Sunday together.

Lauryn “Pumpkin” Shannon-Efird recently took to Instagram to share a snap showing how she and her family, which includes her younger sister Alana “Honey Boo Boo” Thompson, celebrated Easter. In the photo. Lauryn, her husband Joshua Efird, her daughter Ella Grace and sister Alana are all smiles while posing for the camera.

“Happy Easter from the Efirds,” Pumpkin captioned her post, which Alana also shared on her personal Instagram account.

Many of their fans left mostly positive comments on their posts. Several praised Pumpkin for “looking great” after her weight loss. Others wished them a happy Easter. A number of Instagram users also gave them some advice after seeing their life story on their reality show.

“You girls still have a chance in life. Get it together and stay as far away from Geno as possible, your Mama too as long as she's choosing him over you,” one fan wrote.

Apparently, a few noticed that Mama June was not present during the family’s Easter celebration. Mama June herself has not posted anything related to the holiday on her social media account.

Nevertheless, she dropped the latest teaser trailer for the upcoming reunion episode of their reality series on Instagram. She also wrote in her post that the episode was “very emotional” for her as she finally got to talk to her kids face to face.

Some of the family’s fans assumed that since Mama June continues to be estranged from her kids, she most likely chose to be with her boyfriend Geno Doak over them.

“Sad she is still choosing Geno over her girls! Get it together June! No man should stand between u & ur girls!!!!” one commented on Mama June’s post.

“If the confession is that June married Geno, then nobody should have anything to do with June. She chose drugs over her family, now she is choosing a man over her family,” one wrote referring to Mama June’s shocking revelation that’s mentioned in the trailer.

Interestingly, ahead of the show’s premiere last month, Mama June insisted in an interview with Entertainment Tonight that she’s going to pick her kids over Geno if she were made to choose.

“It’s a no-brainer. You always pick your kids. Men come and go. Kids and some family always stay,” she said at the time.

Honey Boo Boo has been staying with her sister Pumpkin since the latter was granted custody over her after Mama June walked away from them in 2019 to be with Geno. Mama June and her beau got arrested in March of that year for drug-related charges.

In January 2020, Mama June completed a stint in rehab for her addiction, and she claims she has been sober since then. Throughout the whole ordeal, her kids have chosen to stay away from her. But Mama June now wants to reconnect with her children after being away from them for so long.
