June "Mama June" Shannon's ex-boyfriend Geno Doak returned to social media to reassure his fans that he's doing well despite his recent admission of relapsing on alcohol.
The 47-year-old former reality star took to Instagram Tuesday to upload a photo with a couple of friends. In the snap. Doak grins while making the rock and roll sign with his pals. "Pockets loaded," he wrote in the caption.
Fans quickly reacted to his post, most noting that Doak looked healthy.
"Looking good and healthy. Best wishes," one wrote.
"You look well, Geno. Keep it up," another added.
"Looking awesome. Have a wonderful Christmas y'all," a different user commented.
A day prior, the former "Mama June: From Not to Hot" star admitted to TMZ that he "regretfully" relapsed on alcohol last week.
However, Doak insisted that he was determined to get back on track in his sobriety journey. He said he hadn't had any alcoholic drink since the slip-up.
The troubled star previously completed a nine-month stint in rehab for his drug and alcohol addiction in June. He left the facility in good standing with a certificate of completion.
After his recent confession, he said he does not plan to return to rehab. However, he's committed to continuing to attend AA meetings.
In May, Doak surprised fans when he shared an update on Instagram to show off his weight loss. Many praised him for bouncing back after his addiction problem and breakup with Mama June.
Geno and Mama June officially called it quits last year after dating for almost six years. At the time of their split, the Shannon matriarch claimed she walked away from Doak because he was still holding onto his alcohol problem.
At the six-month mark of his rehab stint in February, the former We TV star revealed that he lost about 70 pounds while getting clean by changing his lifestyle, Page Six reported.
According to Doak, aside from his regular exercise, the meals at the rehab facility helped him lose weight.
"They prepare your meals for you, so anyway, it's on a better eating schedule. I'm not snacking at night. I'm obviously not going out and eating fast food, things of that nature," he said. "[I'm] eating right."
