A Texas man has been charged with murder in the death of his wife, who allegedly caught him in the act of sexually abusing a young boy.
Sean Dacko Preston, 47, was arrested Wednesday and charged with one count of sexually assaulting a victim younger than 14 years old and one count of murder for allegedly killing 41-year-old Keysha Preston in a Houston motel on Nov. 24, according to a press release from city officials in Houston.
Preston is accused of luring Keysha to his room at the Motel King on Laura Koppe Road in north Houston on the afternoon of Nov. 24, Houston Chronicle reported, citing court records.
Preston allegedly killed Keysha “by unknown manner and means” inside the motel room and dismembered her body. He then allegedly stuffed her remains in a suitcase or duffle bag.
Keysha's body has still not been found, but prosecutors said they have enough evidence to charge her ex-husband with murder, ABC 13 reported.
Surveillance cameras at the motel captured Keysha and Preston walking into room 120 of the motel, but she was not seen coming out, investigators said.
“[Keysha] never exited,” prosecutor Janna Oswald, who first became aware of the Prestons in a child abuse case, was quoted as saying by ABC 13. “We see [Sean] go in numerous times with duffle bags and other ways to carry things. He does carry things, things that looked heavy, and (Keysha) was never seen.”
According to the search warrant, Preston struggled with getting a suitcase or duffle bag on wheels down the stairs and “had to use both hands to lift it into the trunk” of a car.
Preston left the motel room and returned around an hour later carrying the same bags, though they appeared to be much lighter than they were when he exited, the warrant said.
Prosecutors said cleaning staff who entered the room the following day reported an unusual strong bleach smell, according to ABC 13.
Keysha’s son reported her missing on Nov. 29 after an unnamed person called him and said Preston had confessed to Keysha’s murder.
The same caller later told police that Preston called them asking for a “throw down vehicle” and “muriatic acid,” a heavy-duty cleaning agent. The caller said they did not provide the accused with the items.
The witness also claimed that they allegedly saw scratches on Preston's face when they met up with him two days after their conversation and that the accused told them that Keysha was “no longer a problem.”
Before she went missing, Keysha filed a police report saying she witnessed Preston sexually abuse a young boy. The couple was reportedly in the process of divorcing when she made the report.
The unnamed young family member told police that Preston touched him inappropriately on several occasions, usually when he was drunk. Keysha told police that she initially did not believe the boy's accusations until she allegedly witnessed Preston molest the child firsthand.
Nine days before Keysha went missing, authorities interviewed Preston about the sexual assault allegations, which he denied. Preston told police Keysha “likes to call in false CPS reports in hopes to stop the divorce,” according to the Houston Chronicle.
Preston is currently being held at a Harris County jail facility on a $2 million bond for the murder charge and $250,000 bond for the sexual assault charge, according to online records.
