Man Accused Of Raping Teen Daughter, Pimping Her To Other Men; 28 Arrested
A 17-year-old girl in India has accused her father of raping her and forcing her to have sexual relations with other men.
Police from the Indian State of Uttar Pradesh arrested a total of 28 men, including the victim's father, four uncles and some influential members of local political parties, according to the girl's complaint.
The girl, whose identity was not revealed, told investigators her father tried to lure her into having a sexual relationship with him when she was around 12-years-old by showing her sexually explicit films.
When she resisted, the father allegedly bought her new clothes. He then took her on a ride on his motorbike and told her he was going to teach her how to drive it, reported the Times of India.
Once on the bike, the father allegedly drove the girl to a remote farm and raped her there. He threatened her by saying he would kill her mother if she ever told anyone about the incident. Since then, the father raped the teen on multiple occasions.
At some point, the father took the girl to a hotel after school and fed her snacks that were laced with sedatives. In the said hotel, he allegedly turned her over to a woman who then left her in an empty room. According to the girl, a man entered the room and raped her while she was unconscious.
She claimed that on several occasions, she was taken to hotels where he was raped by multiple men.
"We are interrogating the father of the victim. He is a truck operator and it seems that he was soliciting his minor daughter," officer Nikhil Pathak said as per the Times of India.
The girl also accused four of her uncles and some members of local political parties of raping her. At some point, her uncles allegedly tried to sell her off but failed.
"A case was registered against 28 people late last night. The girl is a minor and she also has a brother. All statements and the information given is being verified," officer Girijesh Kumar told India Today.
The girl's father and the 27 other suspects are currently facing charges of assault, rape, voluntarily causing hurt and criminal intimidation.
