Man Admits Murdering Parents, Claims He Executed 'God's Order' To Send Them To Heaven
A man who was arrested for murdering his father has revealed he also killed his mother a few months ago and claimed he was simply acting on "God's order" to send both of his parents to heaven.
The suspect, identified by his first name Qutubuddin, from Jaipur, a city in the northern Indian state of Rajasthan, was taken into custody Sunday in connection with the death of his father, 68-year-old Ibrahim Khan, who was found dead with severe head injuries Friday, reported Times of India.
"The victim had sustained grave injuries on his head and it was evident that he was mercilessly beaten. Soon after the murder, the activities of his younger son, Qutubuddin were suspicious and he was taken into custody for interrogation," police said as per the outlet.
During interrogation, the suspect admitted to killing his father, who apparently suffered from ailments. According to Qutubuddin, God asked him to end his father's suffering and send him to heaven. He also confessed to killing his mother, 65-year-old Hameedan Bano, in April, citing the same reasons as per Op India
However, the police said that they were unaware of Bano's murder until the suspect confessed it. The family reportedly tried to cover up her death and rushed her burial.
Qutubuddin then told the police his next plan was to kill his sister-in-law as God chose him to execute her.
The accused has no mental health issues, the police said, adding that he was simply trying to justify the murders without showing any guilt.
"The accused is not mentally unstable and he was justifying his murders," Bhagan Lal, an investigating officer, said.
Last month, a New Jersey man who was arrested for the murder of his 81-year-old grandfather admitted to killing the victim because God "told" him to do so. Jason Vicari, 21, of Wyckoff, was taken into custody for murdering his grandfather, Ronald Vicari, with an ax in his Elmwood Park home. The investigators found that Jason murdered the victim while stealing from the elderly man's residence. The suspect also told the investigators he believed his grandfather was a monster and God told him he would have to change his religion.
