Man Allegedly Kidnaps, Rapes Parole Officer During Check-Up Visit

A 31-year-old man in Memphis, Tennessee, was arrested Friday after he allegedly raped his parole officer and held her against her will, authorities said.

Antonio Taylor, 31, allegedly overpowered the unnamed federal employee after she entered his Memphis apartment Thursday for a check-up visit, Fox 13 reported, citing an affidavit from Memphis police.

Police said Taylor allegedly took her gun and pinned her down before repeatedly beating her and sexually assaulting her. The man allegedly held her at gunpoint during the attack and struck her with the firearm, according to the affidavit.

The parole officer was able to escape at some point and immediately notified officers of the alleged incident, police said. She was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Authorities said she suffered cuts and bruises to her forehead, neck and both legs as a result of the alleged assault.

An unnamed woman who lives in the same building as Taylor told Fox 13, "I guess the parole officer came into the house and they were arguing and then a scream and then a gunshot went off."

"A couple of hours later, that’s when the police came and they wouldn’t tell us what was going on when they first got there but the FBI came and they asked me to leave," said the neighbor, who also told the outlet that she had not been made aware that Taylor was a sex offender.

Taylor is facing several charges, including aggravated rape, aggravated kidnapping, aggravated assault, convicted felon in possession of a firearm, possession of a firearm during the commission of a dangerous felony and theft of property, according to a statement from the Memphis Police Department.

Memphis police thanked the FBI, the U.S. Marshals Service and the Metro Gang Unit for their assistance in bringing Taylor into custody.

Taylor was previously sentenced to four years in prison after being found guilty of aggravated assault in 2009. He was also indicted in 2014 for statutory rape and arrested in 2019 for sexual battery, Fox 13 reported, citing records.
