A 28-year-old man was arrested for attempting to rape a woman inside a Walmart in Florida. Shoppers at the store rushed to the victim’s aid and pulled the accused off the woman.

Bredan Jarmal Harvey was inside the Miami Walmart on Sunday when he allegedly walked up to a woman, lifted her dress and took her underwear off in the middle of the store, police said in the arrest report. The suspect is accused of pushing the victim to the ground and attempting to sexually assault her as she screamed, according to Law&Crime.

A video of the incident shows shoppers rushing over and fighting Harvey off. One witness managed to drag Harvey away from the woman and subdued him from escaping with the help of fellow shoppers. The customers also helped the woman at the scene until cops arrived and arrested Harvey.

Walmart shoppers are left disturbed after hearing the news of a woman sexually battered at the store.

"That’s really unsafe. I would come into a Walmart to grocery shop. Just for somebody to come up to me; not thinking that somebody is going to come up to me; touching me, it’s just scary as a female too,” Makaila Carroll told WPLG Local 10.

“I don’t even know what to say, I’m at a loss of words. Where is the protection? It’s a shame, it’s a shame there are kids that come here, there are families,” another shopper, Kayla Carter, told the outlet.

Walmart released a statement Tuesday afternoon in light of the incident, according to Miami Herald.

“The safety of our associates and customers is among our top priorities,” the statement read. “We’re very disturbed to see something like this in our store and are grateful to those who intervened to stop the alleged attack and detain this man until police arrived. All other questions should be sent to local law enforcement.”

Harvey is being held at the Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center. His bond was set by a judge at $50,000. He was charged with sexual battery and ordered to stay away from the victim as well as the Walmart store he visited when he appeared in court Monday.
