Man Beats 10-Year-Old Girl To Death With Brick For Resisting Rape

In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old girl in India was allegedly beaten to death with a brick after she resisted a rape attempt by a 24-year-old man.

The incident took place Monday in the western state of Gujarat, and the man was identified as Dinesh Baisane, the Times of India reported.

Speaking to the media, police officers said the child's parents left the girl at her uncle's house when they went to work, and Baisane lived in the same area.

On the day of the incident, the girl was playing outside her uncle's home when the accused lured the minor away under the pretext of buying her some food. He then took her to a remote place and allegedly attempted to sexually assault her.

When she resisted and cried for help, Baisane hit her on the head with a brick. The girl was seriously injured in the attack, which resulted in her death, the Times of India reported.

On Tuesday, the girl's parents filed a missing complaint. Police searched the area to locate her, following which, the accused was detained with the help of CCTV footage.

During questioning, the accused admitted to the rape attempt and murder of the minor.

“We tried to locate the girl as soon as the family informed us. The accused was identified and detained shortly, but he had already killed the girl,” a police officer told the Times of India.

The body of the victim was sent for autopsy to determine the cause of death.

Baisane also told the police that a distant relative of the minor girl had asked him to kill her. However, police did not find any evidence linking the distant relative, identified by his first name Anand, to the murder.

Preliminary investigation showed Anand and Baisane consumed alcohol together after the crime.

In October, a minor boy was killed after he attempted to save his mother from being raped by an intruder. The incident took place in Langsa, a city in Indonesia.

According to reports at the time, the 28-year-old woman was sleeping when the intruder – identified as 35-year-old Samsul – entered the home and threatened her with a machete. The 9-year-old boy heard his mother's screams and rushed to help her. The accused stabbed the boy several times resulting in the child's death.
