In a case of animal cruelty, a man was caught on camera dragging a dog behind his bike with its leash. The incident took place in Rawang, Malaysia, on Tuesday.

The video of the incident was posted on the Facebook page Malaysia Independent Animal Rescue on Thursday with the caption “If anyone knows anything about him, please message us. Do you see how the dog is running for his life? And he’s just riding his motorcycle without bothering about it. He needs to be punished. Brainless person.”

In the video, the man can be seen dragging the canine by its leash as he rides the bike. The canine tries to keep up with the pace of the vehicle but struggles in doing so. The video has since caused outrage among social media users and has garnered over 5,900 shares.

Several people also hit out at the person who took the video and suggested that he should have stopped the crime instead of recording it.

“Instead of focusing on taking a video it would be nice if he could have stopped the motorcyclist from this cruel act,” one Facebook user commented. “The person recording this at least could have stopped the guy omgg what is wrong with this people,” said another user.

“Shame on the person who was just making the video and dint do anything to stop this from happening,” another user wrote.

It was unknown if the man was caught and there was no information about the condition of the canine. It was also not known if the canine belonged to the man riding the bike.

In a similar incident in Malaysia earlier this year, a dog was seriously injured after it was tied to a bike with a rope and dragged along the road. A man noticed the person dragging the canine and immediately informed the nearby traffic control officers, who stopped the vehicle and ordered the man to loosen the rope.

“He only loosened the dog’s rope when some police officers nearby decided to step in, and then he sped off on the vehicle. The dog has since undergone a check-up, and it is wounded all over, from his limbs, to his abdomen and neck. It also appeared very weak upon his rescue,” the man said.
