Man Feeds 4-Month-Old Baby Beer Mixed With Energy Drink For Crying Loudly
A 4-month-old baby in Indonesia was fed beer mixed with an energy drink by a man babysitting the child. The man reportedly did so because the child was crying loudly.
The incident took place in the province of Gorontalo, media outlet World of Buzz reported, citing local Tribun News. The report said the accused was the baby's uncle, and he was drinking alcohol with five of his friends at the child's mother's home.
During this time, the child sleeping next to him woke up and started crying. The accused then picked up the baby and rocked it till it fell asleep. He put the baby back in the crib and filled the child's bottle with a mixture of beer and an energy drink.
The accused then fed the concoction to the baby at least twice. He admitted he did it because he couldn’t take the sound of the baby crying, World of Buzz reported. Authorities said that the baby's parents were cooking in the kitchen when the child was fed the concoction.
The incident came to light after one of the accused's friends recorded it and shared the video on social media, following which the police arrived at the home and arrested the uncle. The other five friends who were present at the scene were also taken into custody.
The uncle now faces up to 10 years in jail for the act.
In an incident in December, a toddler was strangled to death by her father for continuously crying. The man from the Indian state of Jharkhand killed his one and a half-year-old girl because he was angry. The accused, identified as 40-year-old Gautam, threw the child on the ground and strangled her to death for not stopping to cry. The child's mother was at the scene when the incident took place. She tried to intervene, but couldn't help the baby. Neighbors gathered at the residence and caught the culprit. They beat him up and handed him over to the police.
"My husband loved both our children. I cannot explain the reason why he took such a step," Babita, the wife of the accused, told police, at the time.
