Officers responded to the area of Clayton Street and East 74th Avenue, Denver, Colorado, at around 5 p.m. on Monday after receiving reports of an unattended vehicle that seemed to be burning.

Upon arriving, authorities discovered a person who was already dead in the vehicle. Detectives with Adam County’s Sheriff are investigating the matter.

The vehicle appeared to be a pink Cadillac Escalade and was parked in front of the park. It remains unknown if the fire was set intentionally or happened due to mechanical causes.

The coroner will be determining the cause of death.

While the authorities have not made the name, gender and other details of the person public, it is said that the person was a male.

Authorities have not confirmed if any foul play was involved in the death. Further information would be revealed after the preliminary investigation.

“Detectives are currently interviewing witnesses. The investigation is preliminary and ongoing,” Sgt. Paul Gregory with the Adams County Sheriff’s Office said.
