A man in India reportedly killed himself after his wife found him talking to another woman for more than an hour, and broke his cell phone.
The man, identified only as 22-year-old Krishna, was a native of the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, and was living in the southern city of Chennai for work. Krishna had married Pooja about a year ago. The wife had gone home to Uttar Pradesh, and had returned Monday, media outlet Samakalika Malayalam reported [Google Translate showed].
Pooja saw that Krishna was texting someone on his mobile continuously, even though the couple was meeting each other after six months.
"Even as the couple were chatting face to face after a long time, Krishna was seen messaging on his mobile phone," an investigating officer told The Times of India.
Pooja also heard Krishna speaking to someone when she was cooking dinner. The conversation between Krishna and the other woman reportedly continued for over an hour, the outlet reported. When Pooja questioned Krishna about the woman, he said she was a coworker.
Pooja accused Krishna of having an affair with the woman, and an altercation ensued. In the middle of the scuffle, Pooja allegedly broke his phone. Following this, she went inside a room and locked herself up, following which Krishna hanged himself from the ceiling of the balcony. When the wife opened the door nearly half an hour later, she found him hanging in the balcony, The Times of India reported.
