Man brutally murdered his estranged wife after hitting her with two cars and stabbing her with a machete in the Bronx.

Authorities are on the lookout for a 62-year-old man, who ran over his ex-wife with two cars on Ellsworth Avenue and stabbed her with a machete on Thursday morning, officials close to the story told NBC New York.

The ex-husband hit the woman, Noelia Mateo (58) with his car, as she came out on the street. As Mateo tried to crawl away, the man got into her car and then ran over her again. He then slashed and stabbed the woman with a machete.

Neighbors who witnessed the bloodbath asked Mateo’s estranged husband to stop the attack and called 911 to report the assault. Officers who responded to the call at around 7 a.m., found Mateo lying face-up and unconscious on the sidewalk. She had stab wounds on her face and body.

The woman was pronounced dead after she was taken to the hospital.

A witness, Victor DeChristina said the man stabbed Mateo with a “20-inch-long” machete.

"I ran over, and I'm screaming at him, trying to stop him,” he told NBC New York. According to him, the man fled in Mateo’s car after brutally attacking her.

“It didn’t bother him at all,” DeChristina added.

Mateo had moved into this new house where the tragic incident happened about one year ago. On Thursday morning, she saw her husband waiting for her at the end of the block, witnesses said. His grandchildren were outside when the whole horrific incident took place.

Police have not yet made an arrest and they are still on the lookout for the accused. They believe the murder took place after an argument, though the details of the same weren’t immediately clear.
