A Michigan man was charged after he kicked his pregnant girlfriend in the stomach, resulting in a miscarriage Sunday.

Oakland County deputies responded to an emergency call and found the 19-year-old woman experiencing severe pain at her home in Pontiac. She told the officers she was six months pregnant and that her boyfriend, Kahlil Arron-Shabzz Ellison, 22, had fled the residence after kicking her in the stomach.

She said the two had an argument as she refused to give him her phone. He then pulled her off the bed and onto the floor by her feet before stamping on her stomach, ABC-affiliated television station WXYZ reported.

The unborn child was pronounced dead after doctors examined the victim. Ellison was found at a different home and taken into custody. He was charged with “Assault on a Pregnant Individual, and Intentionally Causing Miscarriages” and given a bond of $1 million.

In a similar incident in December, a man who punched his pregnant ex-girlfriend unconscious, bragged about it after the incident’s video surfaced on Facebook. Gareth Warne kicked his ex-girlfriend Ashleigh Booth, leaving her with bruises and a cut on her face. When the video of the incident surfaced, he bragged about it saying, "Looks like am famous believe what ya want people."

Speaking about the incident, the victim wrote, "In November last, he broke into my dad's property and burst my eardrum by smacking me, leaving me unconscious whilst I was 4 weeks pregnant! All I wanted to do was share my story and show that domestic violence does go on and still goes on and is the most horrific thing anyone can deal with, I wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy!”

In another incident in July, a police officer was charged for kicking an eight-month pregnant woman in the stomach in Florida. The officer, Ambbar Pacheco, got into a confrontation with the victim, Evoni Murray and her boyfriend, during which she kicked her. Murray, who was facing severe abdominal pains, made a distress call to Miami Beach Police. Pacheco was taken into custody where she told the officers that she saw “red and beat the shit out of her.” She was relieved of duty with pay pending an internal investigation.
