Man Kills Ex-Girlfriend In Front Of Her 5-Year-Old Daughter In Crowded Playground

In a shocking incident in Russia, a man stabbed his ex-girlfriend to death in front of her five-year-old daughter and several other children at a crowded playground.

CCTV footage of the incident shows the accused, identified as 38-year-old Artem Shustov, approaching 27-year-old Natalia Basova. As she sits on a bench in the park, the accused slaps her before stabbing her over 20 times. The woman unsuccessfully tried to fight back but falls off the bench. Meanwhile, all the children can be seen running around in terror as some parents grab their children and take them to safety.

The accused fled the scene in a rented car. Following a major manhunt, the man was taken into custody several hours later.

Recalling the incident, a witness said, “They were shouting, the man swore a lot. He slapped her on the face, then stabbed her again and again. He went back to his white car and drove away. The woman collapsed with blood gushing out of her. We were shocked, he just stabbed her. Her child was in shock, she was taken away by the ambulance.”

Another witness said, “My children were there and they ran back home all in hysteria and in tears. I am still trying to cope with it myself. The daughter of the victim was right there, at the playground, some woman was holding her in her arms. My heart goes out for them.”

The woman was reportedly a single mother who recently moved out in order to begin a new life post break up with the accused.

Calling the victim “a beautiful woman,” one of Basova’s friends said, “This was her jealous lover. They were together for a while but he never proposed to her.”

The investigation was ongoing to find out the exact reason for the murder.
